KelbyOne Studio Shoot

After looking up countless tutorials on Kelby One, I finally decided on doing the Senior Portrait tutorial. The majority of the tutorial was pretty much on lighting and I really wanted to create a warm effect with my model. I feel like i was pretty successful with my subject and did no edits so that the lighting could be the main subject of picture. I think the pictures came out really well and I used two lightboxes and a reflector to create the desired effects.

AJA Quote

In this picture, I wanted to capture what school can feel like. Sometimes, school seems never ending and we are just waiting to get out and start living. I hoped to communicate that with my quote and image, by putting the picture in black and white and by using a quote that hints at the feeling, but also leads one towards thinking about the hope of what has yet to happen.

Light Final

My "lighthouse"is my brother. He has always been there for me and I wanted to show how much of a friend and wonderful brother he has been to me. He shines his light by listening and being there for me. In order to show the strong sibling relationship have, I took an old picture of my brother and I and projected the image on to my brother.I did very minimal edits to these pictures since the projector had a very rich color and I didn't want to over saturate the pictures. At most, I enhanced the shadows and tweaked with contrast.

Textpost Image

I took this image and chose this quote because I have a passion for tea. It calms me down and puts me in a peaceful place, and I feel like the atmosphere where you drink tea also helps to relax the body and mind, which is why I lit candles and placed them all around the tea pot to give it a calm/dreamy affect.

Least Favorite Place on Campus

My least favorite place is the hallways at school. The first picture is oddly vacant, which gives me a serene feeling. However, most of the time it is busy, crowded, and is usually very irritating to navigate through. The second picture describes how I feel about the hallway. I found a "No Parking" sign on a nearby fence, and the "No" was perfect because I feel so impatient and anxious in the hallways that all I am really thinking is "No, I don't want to be here".

Gratitude

For this project, I originally had completely different captures and was planning on taking this on a completely different direction. However, my vacation to NYC changed all that. This vacation would be the last one I'd take with my family, and I wanted to capture moments I will never forget. I made only minor edits to each of these pictures because I didn't want to "tamper" with my moment. The edits I made were essentially just on contrast and highlights.
